My name is Brian Lovejoy and I've been an educator for over a decade. From California, South Carolina, and even Indonesia, I've experienced many different situations. In all of those settings, I continued to see the same issues over and over again. Gaps. Holes. Missing pieces. Like my 3 year old whose puzzle pieces are scattered around the house, many students have learned some math concepts, but are missing others, leaving the puzzle unfinished and the foundation unstable. However, they are not a hopeless case. I truly believe that no one is "born bad at math" and every student has the potential to succeed. I've made it my own personal vision to equip students with the skills and understanding necessary to be successful.

While I am originally from the Sacramento area of California, I attended the Master's University in Santa Clarita, CA and obtained my teacher certification. After briefly teaching in California, I moved overseas to Bandung, Indonesia and taught at a private international school for 4 years. I returned to the US and moved to Greenville, South Carolina and now live here with my wife and 2 children. I am certified to teach in South Carolina, both middle and high school math levels, with an endorsement to teach Gifted and Talented Students. I have also received a Master's of Education degree in Curriculum & Instruction specific to Mathematics and am a Google certified Educator. I am entering my 11th year of teaching and have taught all math subjects from 7th grade to AP Calculus, but have most recently specialized in Algebra 1 and 2.
